5/1/2026 Why I Built Anchored Solutions Consulting - And Why It Took Everything I Had to Get HereRead NowI didn't set out to become a consultant. I set out to serve.
My career started on the ground as a Community Health Worker in Bexar County, Texas. I was young, I was passionate, and I was watching something that would shape everything I did after — I was watching good people with good intentions run organizations that were quietly falling apart from the inside. The mission was clear. The calling was real. But the systems? The systems were broken. Nobody talked about that part. We celebrated the vision. We rallied around the cause. But behind the scenes, staff were burned out, processes were chaotic, and resources were being stretched so thin that the communities these organizations existed to serve were the ones paying the price. That never sat right with me. Over the next decade I built a career at the intersection of community impact and operational excellence. I coordinated COVID-19 emergency response across 74 counties in South Texas. I assessed the operational health of more than 200 community-based organizations. I led teams, managed complex projects, facilitated leadership development, and worked alongside organizations at every level — local nonprofits, government agencies, national philanthropic foundations. I earned my MPH, my MBA, my PMP, and my Six Sigma Green Belt — not to collect credentials, but because I was hungry to understand how to do this work better. And through all of it, I kept seeing the same thing. Organizations with a powerful calling and a broken engine. Leaders who were gifted, dedicated, and completely overwhelmed. Teams working hard and still not moving forward. Not because they lacked vision — but because nobody had ever helped them build the foundation the vision needed to stand on. I also experienced it personally. I served in church leadership as a women's ministry Bible teacher and Communications Administration Director. I loved the work. I loved the people. But I saw firsthand what happens when organizations — even faith-based ones — don't have healthy systems, clear boundaries, or accountable leadership structures. I walked away from that season carrying wounds, but also carrying wisdom. And I made a decision: I was going to use both. On March 25, 2023, I launched Anchored Solutions Consulting. Not to help organizations grow — there are plenty of consultants who will promise you that. I launched ASC to help organizations fix what's broken, stabilize what's struggling, and build the operational foundation that makes sustainable impact possible. As a fractional COO, I bring senior-level operational expertise to churches, nonprofits, and mission-driven organizations that need it most — without the full-time executive price tag. My burden is simple: I believe the communities our organizations serve deserve better than good intentions held together with duct tape. I believe that operational health is an act of stewardship. And I believe that when organizations are built on a foundation of integrity, systems, and purpose — the mission doesn't just survive. It thrives. That's why I'm here. That's why Anchored Solutions Consulting exists. If you're leading an organization and something isn't working — I want to hear from you. Not to sell you something. To listen, to assess, and to help you figure out what your organization actually needs to move forward. Start with our free Operational Health Checkup and find out where your organization stands today.
